The directors deserve monumental appreciation for their energetic efforts in molding such excellent characterizations by cast members. Each has contributed mightily to the advancement of Catholic theatre.
The players who number more than 3,000 have all been dedicated amateurs intent to bring the message of Christ Crucified to more than 1,000,000 persons of all religious beliefs. Some have enacted their roles for a period of many years, while others have more recently joined the cast. Second and even third generations have followed in the footsteps of fathers and mothers. Such a tradition augurs well for the future of "Veronica's Veil". Our players have answered the call and are drawn from all walks of life. Their strenuous and sincere dramatic accomplishments rate glittering stars in the firmament of religious productions.
The stage crew - that splendid group of unsung heroes has developed scenic and sound techniques and lighting effects, which are the rival of the professional stage, transporting our patrons back almost 2,000 years, to the days when the Savior trod the roads of Judea. Unstinted praise is due these devoted men and women for their outstanding services.
The reception committee, parking staff, and ushers comprise our public relations representatives, assigned the duty of making our visitors comfortable, selling religious and secular articles, and adjusting any ticket difficulties. They are trained diplomats, ever ready to be of service. Several of them have been with us for many years. They deserve the highest commendation.
The utility committee comprises ever-willing workers who prepare refreshments and serve snacks in our lobby at each performance. Their ministrations are invaluable to our organization.
Over the years, our costume staff has been a faithful group of expert tailors and seamstresses who have designed and sewn the many beautiful costumes worn in the play. These good men and women begin their arduous tasks six months in advance of each season. May their artistic efforts be always appreciated.
Through the years, great credit must be accorded those public relations experts who, by untiring efforts, have brought the play and its message to untold millions, thus assuring international recognition.
Our office staff works long and hard during the Lenten season. Selling tickets, mailing information, answering mail and telephone inquiries, and attending to a myriad of other production routines are among their daily duties. Their cordial and polite attention to the needs of our patrons merits the plaudits of all. |
